Covell, Contracting Officer Contractor shall furnish F.O.B. destination all necessary labor, materials, equipment and transportation to renovate antiquated elevators in Bldg. 257, 212, and 300. Install an additional elevator in Building 300 and correct elevator code deficiencies. The installation will include the construction of elevator hoistways, hoistways entrances and assoicated modifications to elevator machine room. The renovation will include rework of the hoist motors and elevator cab interior, replacement of roller guides, door operators, elevator cab control panels, hall lanterns, hall call buttons, elevator cab doors, elevator motor generator, elevator controller and hoistway doors. In addition, installation of additional elevator will require relocation and renovation of various office spaces, waiting rooms and building support areas. All work to be performed at the VA Medical Center, West Los Angeles, CA., in accordance with specifications and drawings. Method of acquisition is competitive negotiation. Work must be performed by a qualified elevator contractor. Cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The solicitation is a set-aside for small businesses. Issue date is o/a 7/6/98.
