all labor, tools, equipment, transportation and materials to maintain
Military Family Housing (MFH). Services to be provided include:
Maintenance and repair of interior/exterior of all military housing
units; repair, replacement and maintainance of appliances; locksmith
services; and operation of U-Fix-It store. Types of maintenance to be
performed shall include: Change of occupancy, service calls, and
recurring maintenance of installed equipment. Grounds maintenance
includes, but may not be limited to, Maintenance of parks, common areas
(estimated 71.51 acres of improved grounds) and lawns of vacant units.
Minor construction requirements include: Major painting, wood floor
refinishing/replacement, wall repair/replacement, floor tiling,
plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, concrete repair/replacement,
bathroom fixture repair/replacement, and kitchen repair/replacement.
Work also includes maintenance of playground equipment. The contract
period will be for a total of ten (10) years (basicperiod with nine (9)
one-year options). The projected issue date is 8 Jul 98 with proposals
due by 3:00 pm, 15 Sep 98. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for 22
Jul 98. The anticipated start date will be 1 Apr 99. This solicitation
will not result in a contract if government performance is determined
to be more advantageous. THE APPLICABLE SIC CODE FOR THIS REQUIREMENT
IS 1799 (this is a change from previous synopses) and the
corresponding size standard is $7.0 Million (gross revenues averaged
over the past three years. This project is being set aside for Small
Business Administration 8(a) contractors in Region IV. In accordance
with SBA guidelines, firms responding to this solicitation must include
the following with their proposal: (1) written
certification/verification of current participation in the 8(a)
Program; and (2) written certification/verification of compliance with
8(a) competitive mix requirements and all other applicable SBA 8(a)
Program participation reporting requirements verified by the
appropriate Assistant District Director for Minority Enterprise
Development of the cognizant district offices. Proposals will be
evaluated based on price and past performance equally, plus technical
acceptability. This solicitation will be issued via Internet
(aproximately 8 Jul 98), listed under Business Opportunities, from the

registration for the solicitation is required. The solicitation and
Performance Work Statement will be in a Microsoft Word 6.0 format. NO
