For-profit organizations may also submit applications but will not be entitled to receive a fee for this project. USAID/Jordan intends to select and develop a Cooperative Agreement (CA) with a U.S. recipient organization that offers the best technical approach to achieve results under JUSBP. As a four-year project under USAID/Jordan s Economic Opportunities Strategic Objective (SO), Increased Economic Opportunities for Jordanians, JUSBP will contribute directly to results under this SO. The purpose of JUSBP is to increase the competitiveness, productivity and market outreach of Jordanian private sector firms. JUSBP will focus primarily on firm- level technical assistance, training, management, production, new technology, marketing, quality assurance and business linkage activities. The project is expected to provide customized business development services in response to specific, demand-driven business needs and requests. Other project interventions, including proposed activities to be undertaken with various business support organizations in Jordan, Government of Jordan counterparts, as well as a quality and standards component, are intended to complement and largely support the project s focus on firm-level assistance. The preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a solicitation on a 3.5" floppy disk (WordPerfect 5.1/5.2 format).
