E-MAIL: Contracting Officer, charlie_vicari@nps.gov. The Government intends to issuea a Two-Step Solicitation for insallation of a Security and Fire protection System for Park structures. This system will be installed at Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia and Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. This notice represents Step-One, Request for Technical Proposal as to the methodology and type of equipment which will meet the minimum Government need. Step-One is for the technical proposal only. Prospective contractors shall not submit cost at this time. The Government will review technical proposals and divide them into three categories- (1) Acceptable, (2) Reasonably susceptible of being made acceptable by clarifying or supplementing information, without basically changing the proposal, and (3) Unacceptable. If there are enough offers in the Acceptable category to assure adequate competition, the Contracting Officer may make the determination to discard the other two categories. Those technical proposals which are acceptable will be asked to submit a bid as part of Step-Two, as an Invitation for Bid. Bidders shall bid on his/her own technical proposal. Copies of the Government requirements will be available on or about July 13, 1998, and shall be due within 30 days after issuance at the close of business (4:00pm).
