Acquisition of an inland river style office barge for use in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's Maintenance and Repair Missions on the Inland River Systems. The vessel is approximately 150-feet long, 35-feet wide and 6-feet deep. The vessel is of all steel, welded construction. The vessel shall have HVAC systems, shore power electrical systems, MSD unit, fuel oil, and potable water storage tanks, and necessary support systems. The vessel will be designed, built and classed to American Bureau of Shipping rules for Steel Vessels on Rivers and Intracoastal Waterways. A full spectrum of testing to prove the design and engineering concepts is required. The solicitation has been formatted as "Design and Build" type based upon a Concept Design prepared by the Marine Design Center. This contract will utilize the Marine Design Center's three phase contracting methodology. Liquidated Damages are included in the contract and bonding is required.
