NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ)551-75729-0000/919 for Manual Ultradex, 18", Square Base Indexing Table; Model #R-12817-360. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from A.G. Davis of Sterling Heights, Michigan. This procurement is for the fabrication of an 18 inch diameter, locking precision rotary indexing table with an accuracy +/- 1/8 ARC Second and a repeatability of 1/10 ARC second. This is a manual indexing table with 1 degree increments. A.G. Davis is the only company that can fabricate rotary indexing tables with the same sub ARC second accuracy and repeatability. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have five (5) days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whetheror not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 5 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
