R -- ON-LINE EDITOR IN CHIEF/WEB MANAGER DUE 071398 POC Adam Rubinson, Multi-Media Development Coordinator, Tele.: (202) 619-6978, Fax.: (202) 619-6557 To support the United States Information Agency's Civic Education Programs, this solicitation will be used to contract for a Manager of the Agency's Civic Education Web site, and Editor of an online journal of thought and opinion about civic education. The contract period runs from September 27, 1998 to September 26, 1999. The job requires full-time work (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday) and completion of all journal issues and projects on deadline. Job duties include serving as a publisher and editor, commissioning and editing articles, and collecting and organizing teaching materials. Vendor must have at least one year of senior editing and technical experience with online publications, as well as experience with civic education issues, and senior experience writing and editing for national and/or international journals, magazines, or newspapers. The job entails working with non-profit organizations, authors, scholars, teachers, and policymakers nationally and internationally via telephone and e-mail. Vendor must be independent, proactive, and able to work with virtually no staff. Proposal Due date is July 13, 1998.
