Proposals from eligible business concerns will be accepted for the Foothills Parkway Project PRA-FOOT 8E12, in Blount County, Tennessee The project consists of the construction of 0.520 kilometers of the Foot Hills Parkway including construction of two segmental bridges, mechanically stabilized earth walls, stone masonry guardwalls, and other work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Structural concrete 1,275 m3; structural concrete (precast) 2,419 m3; structural concrete overlay for bridge deck 3,365 m2; prestressing steel 153,160 kg; reinforcing steel 123,380 kg; epoxy coated reinforcing steel 271,260 kg; aluminum bridge railing, 617 m; micropiles 1,520 m; and Class B masonry 115 m3. The project is expected to fall within the price range of more than $10 million. Evaluation of the proposals will be based on, but will not be limited to: The offeror's price; construction time; proposed construction method; and experience and past performance on similar construction projects. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1,000,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
