The U.S. Army Medical Command, MEDCOM Contracting Center has a
requirement for nonpersonal Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Services and
Surgical Team Standby Services at William Beaumont Army Medical Center
(WBAMC). The contractor shall provide these services to eligible
beneficiaries of the military health care system. The contractor heart
surgeons must be certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
or an equivalent certifying body in another country. All contractor
employees performing services under this contract shall have current
certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). The heart
surgeons must have been the primary performing surgeon or assisted in
a minimum of 200 heart surgeries, the majority of which were coronary
artery bypass surgeries. The services provided by the contractor shall
be a Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Team which includes preoperative
evaluation of the patient to include anesthesia evaluation, operative
anesthesia services, cardiac perfusion team, cardiac surgical scrub
team, post-operative physician care, and post-operative nursing care.
The tentative issue date of solicitation Number DADA10-98-R-0038 is 30
Jun 98 and the tentative closing date is 30 Aug 98. The contract
period of performance is estimated to be for a base period of 10 Nov 98
through 30 Sep 99 with four 1-year options. Award must be made NLT 10
Sep 98 to allow for a 60-day start-up period. An indefinite quantity
contract is anticipated as a result of this solicitation. This
requirement is being offered as a small business set-aside. The
applicable Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 8062.
Requests for Solicitation DADA10-98-R-0038 must be in writing using
company letterhead. Only responsible small business firms may submit an
offer which will be considered. REFERENCE DOD FAR 252.204-7004 Required
Central Contractor Registration. (Mar. 1998) Central Contractor
Registration (CCR database means the primary DoD repository for
contractor information required for the conduct of business with DoD.
Registered in the CCR database means that all mandatory information,
including the DUNS number or the DUNS+4 number, if applicable, and the
corresponding Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code, is in the
CCR database. By submission of an offer, the offeror acknowledges the
requirement that a prospective awardee must be registered in the CCR
database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment
of any contract resulting from this solicitation, except for awards to
foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States.
Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror
ineligible for award. Offerors and contractors may obtain information
