SOL 51WCNW806049JAS POC Jackie Shewmaker, 816-426-7129 ext. 221 The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA plans to issue a solicitation to perform augmentation and backup for Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) at the National Weather Service Meteorological Office at Alamosa, Colorado. The Contractor will be required to provide NWS certified ASOS cooperators to augment and backup essential elements of ASOS on a schedule of 6am to 6pm Monday through Friday, and 6am to 2pm Saturdays and Sundays. The augmenter program consists of manually adding data to an automated surface weather observation that is beyond the observing capability of ASOS. The anticipated performance period is from October 1, 1998 through September 30, 1999 with an option to extend the contract for one additional year.
