17 -- AMMUNITION LOADER SOL N68335-97-R-0001 DUE 082998 POC Jack Murtagh(732) 323-2901; Stephanie Jenkins-Leonard (732) 323-2818 Reference original CBD announcement dated July 14, 1997, procurement is being re-announced due to length of time between the original announcement and the issuance of the solicitation. Solicitation will be subject to FAR 15 Rewrite. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to provide the Fleet with a second generation 20mm Linkless-Ammunition Loading System (LALS II) to service the M61A1 Gun Systems in F-14 and F-18 aircraft. A requirement also exists for Air Force production units supporting the M61A1/A2 gun system in the F-15, F-16, and F-22 aircraft. First Article Test Units should be ready for contractor testing 270 to 365 days after date of contract award. Government First Article Testing shall commence approximately 300 to 395 days after contract award. First Article Testing may be waived for contractors who have previously furnished identical or similar supplies which have been accepted by the Government. Upon First Article Test Approval and Release for Production, Production units may be procured via two option quantities for both the Navy and the Air Force of 200 units each (a total of 800 units, if exercised). Delivery shall be at a rate of up to twelve (12) units per month. The requirement is also for one First Article Test Unit and two options for Ammunition Replenishers. All items shall be manufactured in accordance with detailed drawings and statement of work. The offer providing the best value in price, production capability and past performance will be selected for contract award. The contractor shall maintain a quality system that, as a minimum, adheres to the requirements of ANSI/ASQC-9002. Inspection and Acceptance shall be at origin. Packing and Packaging shall be in accordance with the best commercial practice. The contract will be awarded under full and open procedures. Posted 06/25/98 (0176)
