SP4400-98-R-1001: All nonpersonal services necessary to recycle the material content of unusable or obsolete DoD-owned electrical and electronic equipment in an environmentally responsible manner. The contractor will be required to pick up material at military activities throughout the continental United States and transport it to the contractor's facility. The contractor will render the property into four categories: a) clean, sorted metals and nonmetals suitable for commercial recycling and sold by the contractor for the best available price; b) commercially available components and items for resale (optional) by the contractor; c) hazardous wastes to be disposed of at a commercial treatment, storage, disposal facility (TSDF) by the contractor; d) solid waste to be sent to a landfill by the contractor. The contract will have a base period of eighteen (18) months with two (2) twelve (12) month options.
