materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal
necessary to replace a medium frequency MF broadcast antenna system at
USCG Communications Station, Boston, located at Otis ANGB, Cape Cod,
Ma.. The system installation consists of providing and installing a 300
foot monopole, guyed, ungrounded (hot) MF broadcast antenna,
installation of the Government furnished antenna tuning unit (ATU),
providing and installing approximately 2600 feet of AC power cable, ATU
control cable, and RF transmission cable; providing and installing 120
ground radials, 600 feet in length for a 1200 foot diameter ground
screen; providing and installing a tower lighting system, demolition of
two existing towers, and incidental related work. Optional bid items
include extending the radial lengths to 800' (1600' diameter) and 950'
(1900' diameter) Where the radials extend into the pavement, the depth
of burial shall be 1". Restore pavement surfaces upon completion. SIC
is 1799. Bid opening date is on or about August 18, 1998. Cost range is
$100,000 -- $250,000. Performance period is ninety (90) calendar days
