Changes have been made to some part numbers and nomenclatures of items to be procured listed at the end of this synopsis. The closing date for receipt of responses is extended to 13 Jul 98. The Tank Automotive and Armaments Command, Armament and Chemical Acquisition and Logistics Activity (TACOM-ACALA), Rock Island, Illinois is seeking to identify potential sources to supply various M16 Series Rifle and M4/M4A1 Carbine spares/repair parts. This is not a presolicitation notice. This is a Sources Sought-Market Survey Announcement and no immediate procurement, Invitation for Bids, or Request for Proposals is anticipated for about six months. It is contemplated that this requirement will be satisfied using small business set-aside procedures and a five-year requirements type contract (one basic year with four one-year options). Direct vendor deliver will be utilized. The Government has a preference to satisfy its needs through the acquisition of commercial items. If you know of any commercial equivalent items for those listed, please advise. A listing of the items to be procured are listed at end of this synopsis. All interested parties are advised that the technical data for manufacturing the M16 Family of Weapons (which includes the M4/M4A1 Carbine) and spare/repair parts for these weapons include documents which are proprietary with limited distribution restrictions. The proprietary note stamped on each document must be strictly adhered to. Prior to the release of any solicitation and corresponding technical data, all interested parties will be required to execute a confidential non-disclosure and non-use agreement and consent to the terms of this notice. Upon execution of the non-disclosure agreement, the applicable technical data will be released. Upon completion of the purpose for which it was intended, all interested parties will be required to execute a certificate of destruction of all copies of technical data received or reproduced.
