(617) 495-7445, FAX (617) 495-7485 The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) intends to award on a Sole Source basis, a purchase order to Communications Techniques Inc. (CTI) for 3 each 3.5 GHz VXI Synthesizer with a frequency range 3.050 to 3.850 GHz, 10MHz external reference, 10 dBm output power, Model #1056A-03-001 and 3 each 6.5 GHz VXI Synthesizer with a frequency range 6.150 to 6.950 GHz, 10MHz external reference, 10 dBm nominal output power, Model # 1056A-6-001. This is a follow-on procurement to an earlier VXI based synthesizer RFQ cycle which resulted in the procurement of these CTI units, the incorporation of these units into the SAO Correlator First Downconverter Control Assemblies, and the development of software written to control these units. A change in vendor at this point is unacceptable necessitating a time-consuming system and software redesign. Anticipated award date is 7-1-98. Posted 06/26/98 (0177)
