has a requirement for a Hematology Analyzer and intends to negotiate
with Intelligent Medical Imaging (IMI), Inc. as the only one
responsible source. This notice is not a request for competitive
proposals. This requirement is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a
commercial item prepared in accordance with FAR Subparts 12.6 and 13.5,
as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
This announcement constitutes the only Request for Proposal under
Solicitation N62645-98-R-0035. The Standard Industrial code is 3841 and
the small business size is 500 employees. The Government contemplates
award of a Firm Fixed Price contract. A proposal from IMI, Palm Beach
Gardens, FL, is being requested and a written solicitation will not be
issued. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04.
The system shall meet the following Salient Characteristics: an
automated microscope with automated slide frame in-feed/out-feed
system, automated slide stage and oil dispensing system, Sony 3-chip
color camera, Olympus plan 20x and 100x objectives; a software package
that uses artificial logic to locate and classify white blood cells
and reticulocytes; an image capture, processing and review station with
at least a 200MHz Pentium CPU (128 MB Ram, 4 GB HD, 3 " 1.44 MB Floppy,
4 GB DAT Tape Drive, Sharp Image Processor, Fast Ethernet Network
Connections, OS/2 Operating System), 17" color monitor, keyboard,
lightpen and mouse; an ability to add up to three additional reveiw
stations; a barcode label system with a hand-held barcode scanner,
keypad, barcode label printer, and a color inkjet printer; a startup
kit that includes barcode printer ribbons, barcode labels, report
printer paper, mouse pad, keyboard cover, lens cleaning paper, slides,
20 reusable slide frames, immersion oil, 3 halogen lamps, installation
diskettes, 5 data tapes, 1 set downtime barcode labels, laminated
barcode reference sheet, documentation kit. IMI shall satisfy this
requirement by providing the following Contract Line Items (CLINs);
CLIN 0001, 1 MICRO21 200 Automated Microscopy System(#2000) which
includes 1 MICRO21 System(#600100), 1 WBC Differential Software(#1000),
1 Reticulocyte Software(#1001), 1 CSF Differential Software(#1003), 1
Supplemental Review Station(#2001), 1 HP 5C Color Laser
Printer(#210374), 2 MiniPrep Smearing Devices(#200126), 1 set of 2
MiniPrep Spreader Blades(#200140); CLIN 0002, 1 SAKURA RSG-61 Slide
Stainer(#301230); CLIN 0003, 1 UPS, 120 VAC, 50/60 Hz(#210365); CLIN
0004, 1 MICRO21 Starter Kit which includes, barcode printer ribbons,
barcode labels, printer paper, mouse pad, keyboard cover, lens cleaning
paper, slides, 20 reusable slide frames, immersion oil, 3 halogen
lamps, installation diskettes, 5 data tapes, 1 set downtime barcode
labels, laminated barcode reference sheet, documentation kit,
installation and unlimited on site training. All CLINs are to be
delivered FOB destination to National Medical Center, Bethesda, MD by
30 Sep 98. Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial,
applies to this acquisition. All offerors must include a completed copy
of provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Commercial Items,
with its offer. The clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-
Commercial Items applies. The clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and
Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive
Orders-Commercial items, applies to this acquisition. In accordance
