McMinn, rmcminn@pica.army.mil. The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC requires
maintenance and field support to the Mission Management System and
Direct Fire Sight System currently being manufactured by Computing
Devices Canada, Ltd., Ontario, Canada. The Mission Management System
for the 155mm Automated Howitzer processes ballistic data and displays
it to the gun crew; it consists of a processor, computer chasis,
input/output module, cabling, displays, and shock mounts. The Direct
Fire Sighting System provides the howitzer with a capability to engage
combat vehicle targets at 1500 meters by night and day with a high hit
probability; it consists of an eyesafe laser range finder, eye-piece,
and ballistic computer. An average repair turn around of 14 days is
required. The Government intends to award a sole source contract to
Computing Devices Canada, Ltd., Ontario, Canada. It is anticipated that
this will be a 2 year effort. This proposed aquisition, will be
