Morton, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-1200 In accordance with an agreement dated 3 Oct 95, between the Department of Defense of the United States of America and the Ministry of Science -- Academy of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Concerning the Elimination of Infrastructure for Weapons of Mass Destruction, amended 10 Jun 96, the Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) plans to award a sole source contract to JSC Biomedpreparat of the Republic of Kazakhstan as the executing agent for the BW Production Facility in Stepnogorsk. This effort will consist of performing the following tasks: conduct sampling of equipment/material and reporting of laboratory analysis prior to dismantlement; obtain all permits and other licenses required for the execution of the dismantlement; physically dismantle the equipment and infrastructure in Buildings 221, 231, 600, 241, 242, 243, 251, and 252; and dispose of wastes in an environmentally sound manner.
