Z -- PAINTING, REPAIRING AND REFINISHING THE ROTUNDA AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY, WASHINGTON, DC SOL F9836SOL0048 POC Lloyd McGill, (202)287-3238 Lynn Spurgeon (202)287-3238 The Smithsonian Institution is seeking offers to furnish all labor, material, equipment and supervision to clean and repair all limestone surfaces, repair and repaint plaster and plaster cornice work, strip all metal hand and guard rails of paint (lead based) and refinish per the original color scheme of the building when first constructed (1913), in the Rotunda at the National Museum of Natural History, 10th and Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20560. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the drawings, sheets 1 through 18, and the specifications, pages 6 through 78, for Office of Physical Plant (OPP) Project No. 973112, both dated June 15, 1998. Work shall include, but not be limited to, Limestone Restoration (cleaning, repointing, repair), Plaster repair, patching and repainting, Ornamental Metal Work (stripping of paint and refinishing), Light Fixture Restoration (cleaning, rewiring, refurbishing). Bonding and insurance are required. Offerors must submit a 20% surety with proposals. A 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bond shall be required from the successful Offeror.
