bid in four phases. The number of phases awarded will depend on the
funds available at bid opening. Phase 1. Repair Exterior Building 1102.
The work consists of renovation of the landscaping and miscellaneous
repair and replacement of other exterior elements including concrete
flat work. An entrance on the south will be added with a handicap ramp.
Therefore concrete structural steel metal framing, hardware glazing,
clay tile roofing and exterior lighting will be included. Phase 2.
Repair Command Section Building 1102. The work consists of removal and
replacement of ceiling, wall, and floor finishes, repair existing
surfaces, modify same walls, install new ceilings, wall coverings and
floor finishes as well as interior doors and hardware. Interior
millwork will be extensive. New lighting and minor mechanical
modifications will be included. Phase 3. Repair First Floor Building
1102. The work consists of removal and replacement of ceiling, wall and
floor finishes, repair existing surfaces, modify some walls, add
sounding attenuation, painting doors, hardware, office signage. New
lighting and minor mechanical modifications, a motorized handicap lift,
new drinking fountains will be included. Phase 4. Repair and Remodel
Building 1102, Second Floor and Third Floor Basement and Stairways. The
work consists of but is not limited to demolition, removal and
replacement of ceiling, walls, and floor finishes, repair of existing
surfaces, removal of equipment, new lighting systems, installation of
millwork, replacement of interior doors and hardware, structural steel,
metal framing, gypsum drywall, casework is also included. Two restrooms
will be upgraded. This will be an electronic solicitation with all

Estimated Range: $500,000 -- $1,000,000 Performance Period: 360 days
The approximate issue/response date will be 20 Jul 98. No telephone
requests.Only written or faxed requests received directly from the
requestor are acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit
a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Request for
copies of solicitations must reference the entire solicitation number,
including purchasing office identification number. To expedite your
request, limit the number of individual solicitation numbers requested
per letter to not more than 10. Don't request information on this
requirement until after the issue date. An Ombudsman has been appointed
to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the
proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the
Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or
contracting officer, but to communicate contractor, concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government
personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict
confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not
participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection
