Agent (tel. 410-550-1637) The purpose of this procurement is the need
of radioactive waste disposal located at NIDA/IRP. Here are terms and
conditions concerning the disposal of radioactive waste. Disposal of
approximately 6400 lbs. of dry, solid radioactive waste (minimum 5,000
lbs), packaged in 160 fiberboard boxes each 3.9 cubic feet and
weighing not more than 40lbs. each. "Disposal" includes: 1) weighing,
manifesting, marking and loading at generator's site, 5500 Nathan Shock
Drive, Baltimore, Maryland #21224, 2)direct transportation, without
intervening storage or interruption, to a duly licensed radioactive
waste incinerator operator. 3)incineration by said incinerator operator
of the entire shipment. waste (h-3, c-14, and s-35) is minimum 75%
incinerable. 4) transportation of incinerated materials by said
incinetator operator, and that firm only, and with that firm's written
assumption of transportation liability, directly to Chem-Nuclear
Systems at the Barnwell Disposal Site, Barnwell, SC. 5) acceptance and
burial at the Barnwell Disposal Site by Chem-Nuclear Systems. 6)
vendor is entitled to 75% of the contract price upon written
confirmation of acceptance at said incinerator operator; a 25% holdback
will apply until written confirmation is received by Government of
acceptance by Chem-Nuclear. Bid must include evidence of current
applicable waste broker and incinerator operator licenses, vehicle
operator certification(s) and training, vehicle inspection, insurance
coverages, and must document at least 3 years experience brokering
radioactive waste. bids must be expressed as a price per pound of waste
loaded at the generator's site noted in item #1 above. waste must be
removed from generator's site no later than 30 days after award of
contract, and must be delivered to Chem-Nuclear for burial within 1
year of contract award. Due to limited generator waste storage
capacity, time is ofthe essence in this contract. bidder agrees to
comply strictly with all applicable federal and state regulations. The
solicitation document, preovisions and cl auses herein are those in
effect through FAC 90-46. The proposed solicitation contained herein is
