work consists of furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, and
supervision required to complete this proposed project at the 109th
Airlift Wing, Stratton Air National Guard Base, Scotia, New York in
strict compliance with plans and specifications provided by the
Government. The overall scope of work consists of repairs to five (5)
building roof systems totalling approximately 78,000 square feet. The
majority of repairs consists primarily of, but is not limited to;
replacement of approximately 57,000 square feet of built up roof (BUR)
systems with new insulation and single ply EPDM roof systems on four
(4) buildings and applying approximately 21,000 square feet of
asphaltic roof coatings one (1) roof system. Other incidental work
consists of, but is not limited to; ten (10) each window modifications,
five (5) each new exterior roof access ladders, asbestos flashing
removal/disposal, new flashings, new metal fascias and copings and BUR
demolition and disposal. The facilities will remain fully operational
during the performance of the work. The contractor shall ensure
appropriate costs to safely accomplish the work are included in their
bid. The construction schedule and all elements of the project will be
closely coordinated with 109th AW Civil Engineering Office. The
magnitude of this proposed project is between 100.000.00 and
500,000.00. The work will be bid a lump sum, firm fixed price contract.
The anticipated performance time for this project is 120 calendar days
after notice to proceed is issued. IFB DAHA30-98-B-0009 will be issued
on or about 14 July 1998, with a bid opening date on or about 13 Aug,
1998. A pre bid conference will be held at the Stratton Air National
Guard Base, 1 ANG Road, Scotia, New York 13302 on 28 July, 1998 at the
Base Civil Engineers Office at 09:30. All prospective bidders are
recommended to attend. Interested firms may request an IFB package by
submitting a written request to the USPFO-NY, 330 Old Niskayuna Road,
Latham, New York 12210-2224, ATTN: MNPF-PC. IMPORTANT: All requests for
IFB packages must be accompanied by a non refundable cashiers check,
bank draft or money order in the amount of $75.00 made payable to the
Treasury of the United States. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC)
applicable to this project is 1542. Interested firms must identify, in
writing whether they will be bidding the project as prime contractor,
subcontractor or supplier and their firms business size (i.e. small,
large, women owned or SBA). Funds are presently not available for this
acquisition. Contract award WILL NOT be made until appropriated funds
are made available for which payment for contract purposes can be
