65 -- MEDICAL EQUIPMENT PURCHASE OF ADVANTAGE 10 DIGITAL CCD CAMERA SYSTEM WITH ADVANCE SCAN SOL 665-D80026 DUE 071098 POC Teri Deihl The VA VISN 22 Network Business Center, VA Sepulveda, intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Advance Microscopy Techniques, Danvers, MA 01923, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. Advanced Microscopy Techniques manufactures and is sole distributor of the Advantage 10 Digital CCD Camera System for the Phillips EM201 and the photographic print and negative digitizing system (Advance Scan). The Advantage 10 is for use exclusively with the Phillips EM201 TEM, which is currently on site at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Sepulveda, CA where this equipment will be stationed. This system, which is used in Research Service, includes the following: digital image acquisition interface, elecro-optic interface, photographic field of view imaging, a Megaplus 1.6 camera, imagepals, a digitizing 600x1200dpl digitizing scanner, adobe photoshop, and pricing includes installation and training. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a proposal. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All proposals received by 4:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time, July 9, 1998, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
