interested in obtaining Architectural/Engineering, and interior design
and landscape architectural services for programmatic alterations and
plant maintenance. A term type contract will be awarded for the
preparation of detailed plans, specifications and cost estimates for
alterations, new construction, maintenance and repair projects, and
other services such as miscellaneous reports, planning and programming,
studies, investigations, shop drawing review, construction inspection
and other related documents and services. Interior design and landscape
architecture may become a part of the project. Therefore, interested
parties must include these disciplines when submitting Standard Forms
254 & 255. The contract will require multi-discipline engineering
services for laboratory, office, public area and general support
facility design for projects in the Research Triangle Park, NC. A
preponderance of the work will be mechanical engineering such as
installation of fume hoods; ventilation; modifications of variable air
volume conditioning systems; and modifications to steam, chilled
water, and HTHW systems. Electrical, civil, structural, architectural,
interior design and landscape architectural services will be required
on a lesser basis. The contract shall be for a one year period with
four (4) one year unilateral option years with the same terms and
conditions. Interested parties must submit completed Standard Forms
-254 & 255 not later than COB 16 July 1998 (overrides Note 24). A
Standard Form 254 should be submitted for each major consultant and
noted on the form. Consideration will be limited those firms capable of
providing all required services within one hour driving time from the
Research Triangle park, NC. The selected firm shall be licensed in the
State of North Carolina to provided professional engineering
facilities design services. Each design discipline shall be supervised
by a licensed professional engineer/architect registered in the
respective discipline. Personal visits for the purpose of discussing
this action are discouraged. Telephone calls for such will not be
acknowledged or returned. Firms desiring consideration shall submit
appropriate data with a letter of interest to the address above
identifying the project as Term Contract for Laboratory and Public
Space Renovations. This is not a Request for Proposals. The evaluation
requirements for this project are: 1) Professional qualification
necessary for satisfactory performance of required work; 2) Specialized
experience and technical competence in the type of work required, e.g.,
laboratory renovations in a research setting; 3) Capacity to accomplish
the work in the required time frames; 4) Past performance on contracts
with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost
control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules; 5)
Location in the general geographical area and knowledge of the Research
Triangle Park, NC. Responding firms should illustrate capabilities on
Standard Forms 254/255. The above criteria will be used to evaluate the
submitted SF-254/255's. Additional criteria, in conjunction with the
above, will be used during short listed interviews. All responsible
