NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for the drydocking, inspection and bottom painting of the NASA Transportation Barge Pearl River. The estimated period of performance is 3 weeks. Barge is located in New Orleans, LA. The cost of delivery and redelivery from the Contractor's facility will be considered in the evaluation process. All requests for the drawings shall be in writing to the Contract Specialist or Contracting Officer. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3731 and 1,000 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-04. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about July 14, 1998 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about August 14, 1998. Firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the solicitation. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
