This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island requires six (6) units of Force Sparc CCA VME, Model: CPU-5V-64/100/2 (PN: 105326); and six (6) units of Force 64 MByte DRAM Module (PN: 101773). These units must be exact duplicates of those in the Enhanced Processing System (EPS) of the AN/SQQ-89(V)14 Sonar System because compatibility is essential in order to preserve the integrity of the system. Any company other than the original manufacturer shall submit evidence that it is authorized by the manufacturer to distribute these products and that the products are covered by the same warranty as the original manufacturer provides. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to NUWCDIVNPT, Newport, Rhode Island by 24 August 1998. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial, applies to this acquisition with the following addenda: (a) The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 3577; the size standard is 1000 employees. (b) We will close the solicitation on 13 July 1998 at 2:00 p.m. local time, and intend to award on 15 July 1998.
