The U.S. Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations Office, proposes to extend the period of performance of Contract No. DE-AC09-93SR18292, for Paramilitary Security Services for 6 months (4 months plus two, 1- month options) from the date of completion of the current contract, which is September 30, 1998. The contract is a Cost Plus Base Fee and Award Fee contract with Wackenhut Services, Incorporated (WSI). The estimated cost for the extended period of performance is $20,000,000. The sole source extension period of performance with WSI is to provide time to permit solicitation and award of a competitive follow-on contract.
