E-MAIL: Victoria L. Dixon, victoria.dixon@msfc.nasa.gov. NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Advanced Composite Materials to include the following: Item 1. This is a graphite towpreg used for fabrication of advanced composite structures. It should be a high modulus T1000 fiber with theex1522-1 resin system. It is a 12k tow with a bandwidth of 0.125", resin cures at 350 degrees F. It is desired that each spool weighs close to eight pounds and a spool diameter of three inches, quantity 300 lbs. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Bryte Technologies Inc., 2025 O'Toole Avenue, San Jose, California. This sole source is based on proprietary specification and system compatibility. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until July 14, 1998, to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/ capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the July 14, 1998, or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
