(619)553-4536. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial
items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as
supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This
announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being
requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The
solicitation number is N66001-98-R-0057; this solicitation is being
issued as a request for proposal (RFP). The Department of the Navy
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SPAWARSYSCEN San
Diego), San Diego, CA intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price
type contract to Weinschel Corporation, 5305 Spectrum Drive, Frederick,
MD 21703-7362, (301) 831-4452. The provisions and clauses are those in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04 effective 24 April
1998 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13 effective 9 March 1998. The
Standard Industrial Classification Code and Small Business Size
Standard is 3363 and 750 employees. The required single slug slide
tuner, Weinschel Model 953, P/N WA200261, must meet the following
specifications: Operating frequency band: 962 MHz -- 1231 MHz; Power
handling capability: 3000W peak input power and 300W continuous input
power without generating any intermodulation products greater than -95
dBm.; VSWR: no more than 1.2:1; Tuning: Must have a slide bar tuner to
permit the reflected power to be adjusted across the operating
frequency band. Must have an adjustment know to permit the probe to be
moved in and out with a stop to prevent the probe from touching the
center conductor.; Insertion loss: less than 0.2 dB across the
operating frequency band; Input impedance: 50 W; Size: no more than
10.6" long including connectors; no more than 4.25" high including
tuning knob; no more than 1.35" wide.; Connectors: Male 90 RG-214 N
connector on top; female straight RG-214 N connector on the bottom.
Connectors must be stainless steel and mate non-destructively per
MIL-C-39012 and MIL-STD-348. Center contact of male connector must be
stainless steel. Center contact of female connector must be
gold-plated, heat treated BeCu.; Temperature: Operating: +15 C to +35
C; non-operating: -55 C to +80 C.; Mounting: Must have four tapped and
threaded 8/32 holes on the side opposite the knob. Standard commercial
warranty and users guide to be included. Contractor must supply proof
that their product meets all the above specifications -- product
literature that includes technical features and above specifications
will suffice. In addition, contractor must supply proof that they have
furnished the above single slug slide tuner to other customers. The
above equipment is needed as follows: Item 0001- A quantity of three
hundred sixty one (361) single slug slide tuners, needed no later than
60 days after award of contract, partial delivery may be accepted. FOB
