This acquisition is for a quantity of 38 each Fire control Input/Output Port 2 (FCIOP2) Electronic Module Assemblies manufactured in accordance with Department of the Navy Strategic Systems Programs drawing number 7101294 dated 3 June 1996 and NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane Statement of Work. These modules are required for the manufacture of Alteration kits for the MK98 Fire Control System. This requirement is intended to be procured on a sole-source basis from Primus Technology, 2333 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Primus is the only contractor who has undergone extensive performance and systems compatibility testing and has been approved as a source for MK98 special modules. Non recurring costs and schedule slippage to perform evaluation of any other potential supplier's capabilities and correlation of the testers precludes pursuing a competitive solicitation for this requirement. Delivery of one preproduction unit will be required FOB NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane, and General Dynamics, Pittsfield, MA on or before 10 March 1999. The 36 production units will be required no later than 15 April 1999. Inspection and acceptance of the production units will be performed at source. Numbered Notes 22 and 26 apply.
