for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals
are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The
Solicitation Number is M00681-98-Q-1214 and is issued as a Request for
Quotation (RFQ). The Standard Industrial Code is 3556 and the business
size standard is NTE 500 employees. This requirement is for a fixed
price contract for two (2) line items as follows: ITEM 0001: FIVE (5)
EACH -- OVEN, NATURAL GAS, DECK, TRIPLE STACK, WITH 12" COMPARTMENT,
GARLAND MODEL G-2123 OR EQUAL. IN ACCORDANCE WITH SALIENT
CHARACTERISTICS LISTED; ITEM 0002: FIVE (5) EACH -- OVEN, NATURAL GAS,
DECK, TRIPLE STACK, WITH 7" COMPARTMENT AND CORDIERITE DECK, GARLAND
MODEL G-2073 OR EQUAL. IN ACCORDANCE WITH SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
LISTED; SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: 1. ITEM 0001 -- a. Roast Section (12"
Compartment): A 12 gauge steel hearth; b. Dimensions: Not to exceed
75"H x 55-1/2"W x 38"D; c. Interior Construction: Steel deck in oven
compartment with middle shelf; d. Legs: Three (3) each units are not
required with legs. Two (2) each units are required with legs; ITEM
0002 -- a. Dimensions: Not to exceed 69-5/8"H x 55-1/2"W x 38"D; b.
Interior Construction; Cordierite deck in oven compartment; c. Legs:
Units are required with legs; 3. The following characteristics are
common to both Item #1 and Item #2; a. Control and Burner Components:
Each section shall have a free floating, easily removable burner. Unit
shall contain automatic pilot light system with 100% shut off
capability. Unit shall have easy access from front for operation and
maintenance. Each oven section shall provide a minimum 150F to 500F
temperature range and an independent on-off gas valve and 100% safety
pilot system; b. Exterior Construction: Front, doors, sides, back, top
and bottom of oven sections shall be #430 Stainless Steel, #3 finish
or industry standard stainless steel sheets minimum; c. Shelves:
Standard shelves constructed of U.S.S. #11 gauge formed, reinforced and
flanged steel; e. Doors: Door shall open to full width of oven cavity
and to exact level of horizontal oven deck for unobstructed loading.
Door must support a minimum of 250 pounds. Heavy chrome plated tubular
steel door handles with concealed hinges and shall be counter-balanced
without the use of springs; Delivery will be to Traffic Management
Office, Bldg 2253, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. The provision
at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items applies.
Offerors are required to complete and include a copy of the following

Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial Items, applies with
the following clauses applicable to paragraph (b): DFARS 252.225-7007,
Trade Agreements; DFARS 252.225-7012, Preference for Certain Domestic
Commodities; DFARS 252.225-7036,North American Free Trade Agreement
Implementation Act; and DFARS 252.247-7024, Notification of
Transportation of Supplies by Sea. Any contract awarded as a result of
this solicitation will be a DO rated order certified for national
defense use under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System. Offers
must be received no later than 3:00 PM, local time, 7 August 1998.
Offers sent via the US Postal Service should be mailed to the
Contracting Office, USMC, P O Box 1609, Oceanside, CA 92051-1609. All
offers not sent through the US Postal Service will be considered to be
hand carried and direct delivered. Hand carried offers must be
delivered to and placed in the depository located in Building 22180,
Contracts Division, Camp Pendleton, CA. Direct delivery of offers is
only possible during weekdays, excluding federal holidays, between the
hours of 7:00 am and 4:30 pm. Offers may also be submitted via

procurement is prepared utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
