A -- PURCHASE OF OUTBRED RHESUS MONKEYS SOL N00168-98-Q-E156 DUE 071398 POC Ms. Tracy Holland (301) 295-0286 The Naval Medical Research Institute, located on the National Naval Medical Center compound in Bethesda, MD intends to award sole source contract with Three Springs Scientific, Inc to buy (16) sixteen outbred Rhesus monkeys. The monkeys shall be mixed sex, age two to three years, weight 2.5-3.5kg. All animals must be from the same breeding colony. They must be in good general health, and must not have been previously in scientific experiments. They must have been born in the U.S. and never lived in a local were malaria is present. They must be negative in tuberculin testing, and negative by antibody testing for malaria, herpes B, SRV1, SRV2, SIV, and STLV-1. Oral communications are not acceptable.
