On or about 7/13/98, this office will issue a Request for Proposal for building expansion at the Rapid City, SD Main Post Office. Proposals will be opened on 8/12/98 at 3:00 PM. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC PROPOSAL OPENING. The value of the work is estimated to be between $2,900,000 and $3,200,000. Description of the work is: The project consists of expanding the Main Post Office at Rapid City SD by approximately 26,000 square feet and the renovation of the existing lobby/rent a box area into a new Postal Retail Store. This will be a multiple phase project with completion within 365 calendar days. Contractor is responsible for all permits, fees, and coordination with Postal Service and other contractors during construction and will not impact USPS operations and customer service. The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete within 365 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be accessed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE FOR PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
