The 89th Contracting Squadron at Andrews AFB intends to issue and post on the internet ( dornburghd@andrews.af.mil ), on or about 28 July 1998, the solicitation package (and amendments to the solicitation, if any) for Project AJXF 97-8005, Replace Lighting, Medical Campus, Malcolm Grow Medical Center (MGMC), AAFB, MD. The project consists of providing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials and performing all operations necessary to replace site lighting for the surrounding parking lots of Building 1050, Medical Campus, MGMC. The work includes but is not limited to: Replacement of site lighting; scanning the construction site with electromagnetic or sonic equipment and marking the surface of the ground where existing underground utilities are discovered; verifying the elevations of existing piping, utilities, and any type of underground obstruction; verifying elevations before installing new work closer than nearest manhole or other structure at which an adjustment in grade can be made; and perform toning where indicated. Total contract performance period is 120 calendar days. The proposed procurement is being issued as an unrestricted acquisition and is subject to the evaluation criteria contained in DFAR 252.219-7008, Notice of Evaluation Preference for Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns -- Construction Acquisitions -- Test Program. Award will be made to the offeror who the Government determines can best accomplish the necessary work to satisfy the requirements set forth in the RFP in a manner most advantageous to the Government. The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the low offeror. Offer guarantee will be required prior to award.
