600, Ft. Monmouth, NJ 07703 DESC: US ARMY CECOM I2WD is conducting a
market survey of Satellite Communications systems designed for
operation in a military tactical environment. This is being conducted
to obtain information on vendor's current technical capabilities,
logistics support infrastructure and production capabilities. We would
appreciate your providing information about any systems that may meet
our requirements. The system shall provide a sheltered Satellite
communications system and networking capability mounted on High
Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) or Extended Capability
Vehicle (ECV) and provide the following: a. 2.4 Meter Tactical Mobile
Antenna Platform (MAP) capable of C, and Ku Band Communications and
must have Intelsat Certification and passing up to 1,544 Kbps data
throughput worldwide b. 6.1 Meter Tactical MAP, capable of C, Ku, and
X Band Communications and must have Intelsat and DSCS Certifications
capable of passing 1,544 Kbps Minimum data throughput worldwide c.
Antenna Control Unit (ACU) and Global Positioning System (GPS) capable
Satellite Auto-acquisition and tracking using the 2.4 and 6.1 Meter
MAP d. Two Shelters, One for Primary Operational equipment, the Second
for Spare Equipment and shall contain mission critical spares. e.
Self-Contained 10 KW Vehicle Mount Generator(s) f. Multiplexing
Capability compatible with DataProducts New England (DNE) 2048AT-16,
and Accredited for Multi-Level Security (MLS) g. Over the Air Bulk
encryption with KIV-7HS, Additional devices for Serial Port encryption
h. Qty 2 -- CISCO 4000M or greater equivalent Routers i. Qty 3 --
Digital Voice Instruments j. Qty 2 -- UNIX Workstations running SUN
Solaris 2.5.1 or higher Operating System, and shall be configured for
Video Teleconferencing and Internet Connectivity k Qty 1 --
Workstation/Laptop running Windows NT Workstation 4.0 l. Provide a
external LAN capability and the ability to remote all workstations
outside the shelter via a Signal Entry Panel (SEP) m. INMARSAT or
equivalent system for out-of-band orderwire n. Total System
Setup/Teardown time Less than 4 Hours with 3 people o. Capable of being
transported by C130, C141, C5A, and C17 p. External Air Transport by
CH-47 q. Capable of operation worldwide in all climatic conditions r.
Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) capable of supporting the system
worldwide s. System shall be Y2K, DIICOE, and JTA/ATA compliant This
information is being gathered for the possible acquisition of three
systems. The delivery time for this potential acquisition shall be 270
