The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Chromex, 2705-B Pan American NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107 for 1 ea for 250is Imaging Spectrograph, three ruled gratings: 1200/500, 300/600, 150/500 Control Module, Retro-illumination, 1 ea Andor Dv420-0E CCD Detector with UV enhancement, 1 ea Optical Fiber Adapter. The Government requires the Andor camera to have a 1024x256 Open electrode chip, that is cooled to -90C. The Andor camera has the lowest dark current currently available at less than 1 electron per pixel per day. The Andor camera also has a peak quantum efficiency of 85%. This requirement includes the Detectors and the Spectrograph, a Universal Variable Angle Mounting Flange and ChromSoft Control Software. This equipment will be used in conjunction with ongoing experiments that already use previously purchased equipment from this contractor. With a second system using similar but improved equipment, the experiments will be able to be carried out with a minimum of disruption using the two systems. No solicitation package will be issued. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued to Chromex. The Contractor must be able to meet all the requirements stated herein.
