F -- HELICOPTER LOG PLACEMENT SOL R6-16-98-39 DUE 082198 POC Contracting Section, 541-523-1209 This solicitation is to secure helicopter services to yard logs and logs with root-wads attached from storage sites on the Grande Ronde River, Dark Canyon Creek and Five Points Creek located on the La Grande Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, Union County, Oregon. The logs will be placed in specific locations and orientations to restore aquatic ecosystems. The helicopter must be capable of carrying objects up to 24,000 pounds.
