warehouses totaling 744,233 square feet. Structures consist of masonry
block walls and wood columns, trusses, and roof deck. Floors and
foundations are concrete. Foundations include continuos walls at
perimeter and fire walls, and interior column footings. Floors are
approximately four feet above grade. Space below floor is earth filled.
Abatement of asbestos pipe and tank insulation, floor tile and sheet
flooring, fire doors, and transite board required prior to demolition.
Masonry walls; wood window frames, columns, trusses, and roofs; and
concrete floors are contaminated with pesticides. Lead paint is present
on walls, columns, trusses, window frames, and doors. Interior paint is
contaminated with pesticides. Liquidated Damages are included in the
contract and bonding is required. Contractors must be registered in the
Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of the
contract. Instructions will be included in the Solicitation. Contract
solicitation documents will be provided on CD-ROM only. One CD-ROM will
be provided upon written request. Bidders will be responsible for paper
copies. Issue date for solicitation documents will be on or about 6
August 1998 with a bid opening date of 9 September 1998 at 1:30 p.m.
Additional copies of the CD-ROM will be provided at a charge of $5.00
each. All requests for additional copies of the CD-ROM should be in
writing along with a company check which must include your Federal Tax
Identification Number, or a Personal Check with Social Security Number
or a Driver's License or Money Order, all made payable to "FAO, USAED,
NORFOLK". Payment will not be refunded and CD's need not be returned.

cost range of the project is $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00.
