The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a requirement to renovate approximately 35,000 square feet of the JEH-FBI Building at 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20535. The work will be concentrated on the fifth (5th) floor of the FBI Headquarters facility. (1) The major items of work will consists generally of the following construction: demolition, construction of sound rated partitions and doorways, installation of cable tray and conduit, HVAC and sprinkler system modifications. The successful contractor shall be required to adhere to FBI security requirements as set forth in the contract documents. The estimated cost of this work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Copies of drawings and specifications will be available by mail only. Estimated release date is July 24, 1998. A Pre-Bid conference and site investigation are tentatively scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. local time at FBI Headquarters Facility, Washington, D.C. 20535. A 72 hour advance notice is required to attend the conference and site investigation. Because of security requirements interested parties must furnish the Names, Date of Birth, Place of Birth and Social Security Numbers of the individuals who will be attending the site investigation and pre-bid conference. Mailed bids must be postmarked at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled date for bid opening. Please reference Invitation for Bid (IFB) in your written request. All solicitation requests must be in writing. Specifications and detailed requirements will be furnished with the solicitation, BY MAIL REQUEST ONLY, for a deposit of $200, SETS OF THE SOLICITATION. Make checks payable to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Bid sets will be issued on a first come first serve basis until supply is exhausted. Bid sets will be sent by mail only.
