a general instruction training facility, Phase I of II. Project
includes classrooms, arms room, and access roads and install an
intrusion detection system (IDS); Supporting facilities include
utilities; electric service; fire protection and alarm systems; paving,
walks, curbs and gutters; parking; storm drainage; sanitary sewer;
information systems; and site improvements. Access for the handicapped
will be provided . Heating will be provided by gas-fired self
contained units. Air conditioning: 200 tons. Demolish 22 temporary
buildings (90,376SF) to include hazardous material abatement. Special
foundation work is required due to expansive soils. Location of this
work is FORT SAM HOUSTON, SAN ANTONIO, TX. Estimated Value: $10,000,000
-- $25,000,000. Commencement of work shall begin upon receipt of Notice
to Proceed and be completed within 365 days. SIC Code is 1542. Small
Business Size Standard is $17 million. Solicitation to be issued on or
about 27 Jul 1998. Proposals due on or about 26 Aug 1998. This project
will be issued Unrestricted. Bids from large business firms must comply
with FAR clause 52.219-9 regarding the requirement for submission of a
subcontracting plan. The Fort Worth District subcontracting goals are
for specified percentages of the contractor's total planned
subcontract amount to be placed with the following: 61.2% with small
business, 9.1% with small disadvantaged business, 4.5 % with
women-owned small business, and 5.5% with Historically Black Colleges
and Universities and Minority Institutions (HBCU/Mis). The plans and
specifications have been placed on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be
provided free of charge. Plans and specifications will not be provided
in a paper hard copy format. Notification of amendments shall be made
through either 3.5" diskette, CD ROM, and/or the Internet. The
Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification
of any changes to this solicitation. It is the Contractor's
responsibility to check the following address daily for any posted
changes to this solicitation. Contractors may view and/or download this
solicitation and all amendments from the Internet from the following
