Doug Hyde-Sato, Contracting Officer Project consists of the installation of approximately 4.5 miles of new p.v.c. (C-900, Class 150) water line of varying sizes between 2" to 4" diameter. This line is to be a replacement of an existing 3" to 4" diameter steel water main constructed in the late 1930's, which currently provides water service to approximately nine organizational group camps along with two Forest Service overnight campgrounds and one Forest Service Visitor Information Center. Included in the work will be the installation of new shut off valves, pressure reducing/sustaining valves, meters, air valves, and the like, along with plumbing modifications to be made to four existing water tanks and interior plumbing modifications to an existing microfiltration building. An optional bid item will be the construction of a 35,000 gallon concrete storage tank near the existing microfiltration building. Estimated cost range of this project is $500,000 and $1,000,000.
