Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) will be negotiating with Oakland University of Rochester Hills, Michigan on a sole source basis for this effort. A one-year, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for approximately $170K will be issued. Oakland University will develop and deliver a Collision Warning System (CWS) and a Collision Actuation System (CAS). The objective of the effort is to enhance the A1-based Driver's Aid System (AHDAS 1) prototype systems through the investigation of alternate sensors, new Heads Up Display (HUD) and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technologies, brake intervention and the incorporation of steering, yaw rate and speed into the vehicle control system.
