mlong@psc.dhhs.gov. The Division of Acquisition Management has a
requirement for the Division of Quality Assurance/Health Resources and
Services Administration/HHS to redesign, implement, operate, maintain,
and enhance the Quality Assurance Data Systems (QADS), i.e. National
Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data
Bank (HIPDB), and the Federal Credentialing Initiative. The period of
performance is not to exceed six years, i.e. one year base period and
five one-year option periods. The requirement shall provide a fully
integrated system, i.e. operational hardware, software, and support
services, sufficient to meet all QADS requirements mandated by: Title
IV of Public Law 99-660, The Health Care Quality Improvement Act of
1986, as amended; Section 1921 of the Social Security Act, as amended
(Section 5); Section 221 of the Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act of 1996, implementing regulations, as amended; and
the VA Credentialing Initiative. The Government expects the
successfulofferor to make full and effective use of state-of-the-art
technologies and methods to ensure accuracy in all aspects of the QADS
and meet performance requirements throughout the life of the contract.
The RFP shall be available approximately 15 days after the date of this
publication and shall close 90 days after its release. All requests for
