913-551-1049 The Bureau of Prisons has a requirement for a contractor
to provide basic literacy teaching services to Federal prisoners who
are housed at the United States Penitentiary in Florence Colorado. The
period of performance will be a base year which will be from October
1, 1998 and will end September 30, 1999. The government will have the
option to renew the contract for an additonal year at the end of each
fiscal year. There will be a total of four additonal option years. The
teacher will teach Special Education and Reading to inmates
individually and in group sessions. The classes are open entry open
exit. The teacher must have a teaching degree in Special Education or
be a certified Reading Specialist. All contractors who are working
on-site must adhere to the Security Requirements as outlined in Program
Statement 3730.02 Security and Supervision of Contract, Consultant and
Volunteer Personnel. All equipment, supplies and materials will be
supplied by the Federal Correctional Institution. Questions and written
