The project is located at Saint Philomena and Siloama Churches at Kalaupapa National Historical Park, Hawaii. These structures are within the Kalaupapa Leprosy Settlement National Historic Landmark District. The churches, outbuildings, sites and landscape features are contributing elements to the significance of this Landmark district and protection of the buildings and their environments and control of construction operations is of extreme importance. Work consists of general construction of fire suppression systems and related work as specified in the technical specifications and drawings for the two historic structures, and replacement of the metal roof at Saint Philomena Church. Operations involving cutting, boring and removal of historic building fabric shall be performed with precision under highly controlled methods and environment. If the successful contractor does not have its own mode of transportation to the island, the contractor may contract with the State Department of Health Services in Kalaupapa (additional information will be contained in the solicitation). The magnitude of this proposed procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1711. This solicitation is an unrestricted procurement inviting full and open competition.
