This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR part 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation to be issued; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this Request for Quote is N00244-98-Q-0340. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 47. This solicitation is issued on a restricted basis. The Standard Industrial Code is 3536 and applies to businesses with less than 500 employees. FISC San Diego has a requirement for crane load indicating devices, plus installation and calibration. Statement of work/specifications:1). Requirements for the Linkbelt Model HC238B 140 Ton Lattice Boom Crane: a. Replace the existing Mark Load Indicating Device. System must meet specifications of the PAT EI65 or equal. b. Must be compatible with:i.12v electrical system ii. 1" wire rope c. Must meet the following criteria: i. Simultaneously display the Boom Length, Angle, Radius, Tip height, and Load.ii. Programmable for variations in load and quadrants of operation.iii. Include an Anti-two block system with audio and visual alert.iv. Anti-two block system must not lock-out load controlling devices.v. Running line type load sensing potentiometer. vi. Ability to be adjusted by the operator for variance boom lengths of 50' to 89'. d. Must be able to withstand a corrosive environment of salt air and water. All connections and the monitor panel must be watertight.e. System cannot affect any load bearing elements of cause any variations tot he manufacturer's original equipment. 2). System must meet specifications of the PAT DS350GW or equal.b. Must be compatible with:i. 12v electrical systemii. 3/4" wire rope c. System must meet the following criteria: i. Be compatible with existing system hardware. ii. Include a light bar type readout for high visibility. iii. Simultaneously display the Boom Length, Angle, Radius, Tip height, and Load. iv.
