construction of the new 20,600 sq. ft. Carrier Annex (there will not be
a Customer Service Retail Lobby or Postal Store.) Site is approximately
4.0 acres and fully utilized by the project. Site will be Government
Owned with no building construction permits. Utility connection fees,
user fees, etc., will be pre-paid by USPS. The design is based upon
USPS mid-size building Design Standard Plans. Work includes but is not
limited to, earthwork, site utilities and site improvements, paving,
landscaping and irrigation. Work also includes concrete foundations and
slab-on-grade, steel structure, steel joists and decking, roof membrane
over roof insulation, sheet metal, masonry, metal stud partitions,
insulation, gypsum board walls and ceilings, ceramic tile, acoustical
ceilings, resilient flooring, carpeting, custom cabinets and fixtures,
carpentry, glass storefront system, painting, metal doors, wood doors,
metal frames, door hardware, metal fabrications, toilet partitions and
accessories, signage, lockers. Loading dock equipment, detection
systems, security systems, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and
air conditioning complete and ready for use. Offeror must have a
minimum of five (5) years experience as a General contractor and must
have satisfactorily completed at least five (5) projects of similar
size and scope. A preproposal conference has been scheduled for August
4, 1998 at 12:00 pm at South Jersey District Office, Administrative
Services, 501 Benigno Blvd, Belmawr NJ 08099-9991. The estimated price
range is between $1,500,000 and $2,000,000 with completion required
within 240 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
Solicitation packages will be available on or about July 20, 1998 at
$100.00 per set, NON-REFUNDABLE, from US Postal Service, Facilities
Service Office, PO Box 701, Columbia MD 21045-0701, attn: Hekima
Wallace, referencing 232098-98-A-0072. All checks/money orders must be
made payable to the US Postal Service, Disbursing Officer. Cash will
not be accepted. Offers are due August 19, 1998 at 4:00 pm. Any
