BALDWIN (508) 233-5920 (Site Code DAAN02) The U.S. Army Soldier Systems
Command (SSCOM) has a requirement to test specific communication radios
for potential inclusion in the joint Army/Marine Corps Military
Operations Urban Terrain -- Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration
(MOUT-ACTD) Program. In addition to radios already synopsized in the
CBD, the Ericsson MRK UHF radio has been chosen, after careful
consideration of available radios in the marketplace, because of its
expected capability to meet certain MOUT-unique performance
requirements. A quantity of 16 units will be procured. Under this
program radios will be looked at again in the 6th Army Experiment
planned for May of next year. In order to be considered for the 6th
Army product qualification evaluations and subsequent Experiment,
please send a list of all radios and necessary accessories that meet
the MOUT ACTD requirements and any technical information including
performance test reports to: CECOM RDED, Attn: AMSEL-RD-ST-WL-WI (Bing
Mak), Ft. Monmouth, NJ, 07703-5000. This announcement constitutes the
final announcement that will be made for these radio types. Should any
companies submit information on another radio that warrants
consideration, the Army intends to procure test quantities of those
items. Please send information no later than 15 October 1998. Mr. Bing
Mak can be reached at (732) 532-0456. Additional information about the
