Congressman Jim Moran for the 1998 Eighth District Trade Conference,
"Exporting in the 21st Century: Helping Northern Virginia Businesses
Win in the Global Marketplace." The congressman has organized this
conference in coorperation with the Northern Virginia Export Assistance
Center as a way to provide the business community with hands-on
information about export opportunities and the assistance that is
available to them from the federal government. Participants will learn
about customs requirements and documentation, electronic commerce, and
how to solve problems when they arise. Northern Virginia firms are
poised for dynamic growth as we approach the 21st century. Export
opportunies-in areas ranging from information technology to government
procurement-will expand rapidly as information technologies continue
to develop and as world trade opens up even greater opportunies.
