General requirements to be met include specific chamber material, dual shroud, shroud material, temperature control inside the chamber, critical thermal control area, etc. Please contact the primary point of contact for detailed specifications. Two drawings will be included with the specifications. Drawing 1 indicates the dimensions of the chamber and its prominent features. Drawing 2 depicts the shrouds that will be used to simulate the thermal environment of a comet. The specifications also include details for the collar chamber, collar shroud, extension chamber, extension shroud, hat chamber, hat shroud, and a hoist. The hoist should be bid separately. GSFC will be given all engineering drawings for review prior to fabrication. Evaluations of quotes will be based on lowest price that is technically acceptable. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3829 and 500 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurment is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 915-80107-0000/921 is on or about 07/31/98 with an anticipated quote due date of on or prior to 08/17/98.
